1. About the Opportunity:
The Chief of Staff to the CTO will enhance the effectiveness of the technology organization by bridging strategy, operations, and execution. This role ensures the CTO’s vision is translated into prioritized actions and measurable results. It plays a key role in maintaining alignment and accountability within a fast-paced engineering environment, enabling the organization to meet its technical and strategic goals.
1. Responsibilities:
• Manage the operating rhythm of the technology organization, including planning cycles, OKRs, budgets, headcount, and resource allocation
• Track progress against goals, identify risks early, and maintain accountability systems
• Partner with the CTO to synthesize information, prepare for high-level meetings, and represent their perspective when needed
• Draft communications and shape narratives around technical strategy
• Coordinate cross-functional alignment between engineering, product, finance, HR, and other teams
• Facilitate decision-making and resolve bottlenecks across organizational boundaries
• Collaborate with finance to manage the technology budget, build financial models, and analyze trade-offs
1. Requirements:
• Experience in technical environments, ideally as a Chief of Staff or operational leader supporting a CTO or VP of Engineering
• Ability to understand technical discussions, including architecture and technical debt, and gain respect from engineering teams
• Proven track record in operational planning processes such as OKRs, budgets, headcount plans, and executive reviews
• Strategic thinking skills to connect day-to-day operations with broader organizational goals
• Executive presence with experience representing leadership in senior meetings and facilitating difficult conversations
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of adapting messaging for different audiences
