Chief of Staff to CEO

Your Role:

The Chief of Staff will act as a thought partner to the CEO, supporting delivery of the company’s highest priorities during a period of turnaround, performance improvement and organisational change. The role operates as an extension of the CEO, helping to maintain focus, pace and cross business alignment across the Executive team to translate into measurable outcomes. The position requires high emotional intelligence, and the ability to operate confidently in a fast-moving, high-pressure environment with credibility at Executive and Board level.

Key Responsibilities:

CEO Partnership & Priority Execution

  • Act as a trusted thought partner to the CEO on priorities, focus areas and key decisions
  • Ensure the CEO’s time is aligned to the most critical business issues
  • Prepare the CEO for Executive, Board and investor discussions
  • Provide clear insight on risks, blockers and delivery gaps

Turnaround Delivery & Cross-Business Alignment

  • Support delivery of key turnaround and performance improvement initiatives
  • Bring structure and pace to complex or ambiguous situations
  • Work across functions to ensure alignment on priorities
  • Identify risks, delays and dependencies early and drive resolution
  • Ensure decisions made at Executive level are implemented at pace

Executive Team Effectiveness

  • Act as a central point of coordination across the Executive team
  • Ensure clarity on priorities, ownership and timelines
  • Support alignment across business units and functions
  • Challenge constructively where delivery is off track
  • Help maintain a culture of accountability and execution

Operating Rhythm & Performance Governance

  • Maintain a disciplined operating cadence across the business
  • Ensure Executive forums are focused on decisions and outcomes
  • Improve quality and clarity of reporting
  • Support performance tracking against business targets
  • Ensure actions agreed at ExCo / SLT are followed through

Communication & Senior Stakeholder Support

  • Prepare clear, concise updates and briefing materials for senior audiences
  • Ensure consistent communication of priorities across the organisation
  • Support alignment between the CEO, Executive team and wider leadership group

Experience & Background

  • Experience in management consulting, corporate strategy, transformation, or senior operational roles
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills and high QA
  • Proven ability to deliver in fast-paced or turnaround environments
  • Comfortable working with senior stakeholders including CEO, Board and investors
  • Experience managing complex, cross-functional initiatives
