About Secfi

Secfi is building the leading investment platform for founders and tech employees to unlock the full value of their pre-IPO equity (option- and shareholdings) and multi-family office for the next generation of affluent tech entrepreneurs.

We manage and raise private funds investing in leading pre-IPO companies. We provide tens of thousands of executives, employees and founders with tax and equity planning. And we are building a multi-family office investment management platform.

With a highly differentiated origination funnel, tech-enabled operations, and growing LP demand, we’re scaling rapidly. We are entering our next phase of scale and are hiring a Chief of Staff to work directly with the CEO and management team to accelerate execution across the company’s most critical initiatives.

About the role

  • This is a high-trust, high exposure role at the center of the company.
  • You will work closely with the CEO/CIO on high-impact corporate strategy, partnerships, and fundraising initiatives. This role requires both intellectual rigor and practical execution, combining strategic thinking with the ability to deliver at speed.
  • You will be responsible for supporting leadership in shaping and executing company strategy, managing critical partnership and fundraising initiatives, and ensuring the development of high-quality materials and analysis. 
  • This position is ideal for someone from a top investment banking, management consulting (MBB), or private equity/venture capital background who thrives in a fast-paced environment, can quickly grasp complex problems, is highly analytical and can communicate insights and recommendations concisely.
  • This is not just a strategy role; we’re looking for someone who can think like an advisor and execute like an operator. You must have a flexible agenda and can-do mindset. Travel will be required as part of this role and you’ll have to align your schedule to the timezone the CEO/CIO operates in. This will mostly be ET and CET.

Location:

  • This role is based is preferably based in New York
  • For the right candidate it's possible to start this role in Amsterdam and relocate to NY later
  • In office 3+ days a week + travel requirements

What you’ll do:

  • Partner directly with the C-suite to help build a best-in-class fintech and asset management firm
  • Shadow the CEO/CIO and Founder in critical meetings and execute on next steps, turning discussions into execution with speed and precision
  • Support key corporate projects including strategic partnerships, shareholder discussions, board meetings and company-wide strategy
  • Be an absolute Excel ninja and PowerPoint wizard. You should be deeply numerical and be able to convert complex data into simple and straightforward stories and slides
  • You're able to talk confidently with founders, CEOs and CFOs of growth and unicorn stage companies, as well as various institutional investors and family offices
  • Support Management Team members in their strategic plans, e.g. the head of Product in product strategy and roadmap + research, the head of BD with a new pricing strategy for partnerships and the head of marketing with a new plan for targeting founders and CFOs  
  • Contribute to our capital raising efforts for our PE/VC style late-stage investment funds
  • If you have no interest in technology and exploring the use of AI in your day to day; don’t apply

What you’ve done:

  • 4–7 years of experience in top-tier investment banking (Top tier bank), management consulting (McKinsey, Bain Consulting or Boston Consulting Group) with an affinity to finance, or private equity/venture capital
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and quantitative skills
  • Exceptional proficiency in Excel (modeling, analytics) and PowerPoint (high-quality presentations) and ability to distill the key narrative (Pyramid principle) and present accordingly
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to break down complex concepts into concise, actionable insights and communicate with senior (third party) executives
  • Self-starter mindset with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong interest or exposure to technology, wealth management, venture capital, or growth-stage investing
