Chief of Staff

60k - 90k
Full-time
Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland
On-site

Job Description:

Location: Dublin (Docklands) — 5 days in-office

Salary: €60–90K base + meaningful equity

Experience: 4–8 years

About Our Client:

Our client is a high-growth, mission-driven company operating at the intersection of technology and physical operations. They are live, with customers, revenue, and backing from world-class investors. They are scaling fast and need someone to help build the operating backbone that lets them keep growing.

About the Role:

This is not a traditional Chief of Staff role. It is closer to a Founder's Associate — one level up. The successful candidate will sit close enough to the founders to absorb the long-term direction of the company, and then, without being asked twice, break it down into what has to happen this week and today.

They will be the connective tissue between the founders, engineering, and commercial teams. They will absorb complexity, build systems (not one-off fixes), hire the people to run those systems, and hold them to a high standard. This is a builder's role, not a support role.

Who We Are Looking For:

  • Speed is their default. Give them a vague goal, they hand back a plan with deadlines before the conversation ends.
  • They own problems completely. They never ask "should I?" — they say "I did." Easygoing on the outside, relentless underneath.
  • They read people as well as they read data. They build trust through care and connection, not authority.
  • Nothing is beneath them. Finance, hiring, admin, scheduling — they do it all and take pride in clearing the list.
  • They know what matters and ignore the rest. Two or three numbers tell the story. Everything else is noise.
  • Chaos doesn't scare them. They thrive in the mess, find the signal, and build the path as they go.

What the Role Involves:

  • Own the sales pipeline from end to end. Run forecasting, manage CRM hygiene, and support enterprise deals with preparation and buyer research.
  • Partner with the operations team to build systems that model and forecast with precision. Drive continuous improvement toward accuracy targets.
  • Track burn, runway, and revenue vs. forecast. Own the weekly financial update to the founders. No accounting degree required — just discipline and attention to detail.
  • Write job descriptions, source candidates, screen resumes, and coordinate interviews. Build the recruiting pipeline, then hire the recruiter who will eventually take it over.
  • Be the person the team trusts. Run pulse checks, spot burnout before it happens, and build an inclusive culture where everyone can thrive.
  • Own calendar management, scheduling, meeting notes, and backoffice tasks. No task is beneath them — they do it because it creates leverage for the founders.
  • Build lightweight, scalable systems for everything — hiring, forecasting, sales operations, reporting. Document them, hand them off, and move to the next problem.
  • Absorb operational complexity so the founders can focus on fundraising, product vision, and key customer relationships. Be their filter, their organizer, and their trusted critic.

Requirements

  • 4–8 years in high-intensity operational roles
  • Startup experience (0→1 or Series A/B) strongly preferred
  • Operations experience
  • Dublin-based or willing to relocate immediately
  • Irish/EU work authorization (no visa sponsorship)
  • 5 days in-office (Docklands) — remote is not an option

What Our Client Offers

  • €60–90K base (commensurate with experience)
  • Meaningful equity — you bet on them, they bet on you
  • Autonomy to build — foundational role with a path to senior leadership
  • The chance to build something meaningful — solving a real problem
