Full-time
New York, NY

Job Description:

sundays

Chief of Staff

New York, NY • Part-Time (20-25 hrs/week) • Path to Full-Time

$4,000–$5,000/month • Reports directly to Founder

About sundays

sundays is a non-toxic nail care brand built at the intersection of beauty and wellness. Our studios are intentionally designed to feel like a breath of fresh air, clean, calm, and genuinely restorative.

We are not a traditional nail salon. We are a place where people come to slow down, feel cared for, and leave better than they arrived.

We currently operate six studio locations across New York and are building the operational foundation to scale.

We are looking for a sharp, scrappy operator to work directly alongside our founder and help us get there.

The Role

As Chief of Staff, you are the founder's right hand. You will work across every part of the business, from operations and hiring to content and strategic projects, doing whatever needs to be done to move things forward.

This is not a siloed role. One week you might be building a hiring tracker, the next you are onboarding a new Studio Manager or pulling together materials for an investor conversation. You are comfortable with ambiguity, energized by variety, and you figure things out.

This role starts part time with a clear path to full time as sundays scales. If you are looking to get deep inside a growing founder-led brand and build something real, this is the role.

What You'll Do

Founder Support & Strategic Projects

• Serve as a thought partner to the founder on day-to-day decisions and longer-term priorities

• Own and drive special projects from start to finish, including research, synthesis, and implementation

• Prepare materials for internal and external meetings, including decks, briefs, and follow-ups

• Help the founder stay organized and focused by managing priorities, deadlines, and open items

Operations & Systems

• Build and maintain lightweight operating systems that keep the business running smoothly across six studios

• Support the hiring process for studio leadership roles, including coordinating interviews, tracking candidates, and drafting communications

• Identify process gaps and close them before they become problems

• Help onboard new team members and ensure nothing falls through the cracks

Content & Communications

• Support internal and external communications including team updates, partner outreach, and community posts

• Help develop and maintain content assets including job descriptions, SOPs, and brand materials

• Ensure consistency and quality across anything that goes out under the sundays name

Studio & Team Support

• Be present in studios when needed, understanding operations firsthand and supporting the team on the ground

• Step in as acting front desk or studio manager when coverage is needed, including last-minute call-outs, until a permanent hire is in place

• Act as a liaison between studio teams and the founder, surfacing issues early and helping resolve them

• Support studio events, activations, and anything else that needs an extra set of capable hands

Who You Are

You are scrappy, curious, and deeply reliable. You do not wait to be told what to do next.

• You have experience in operations, project management, research, or content, ideally across more than one of these

• You are comfortable working directly with a founder in a fast-moving, sometimes ambiguous environment

• You have strong written communication skills and high attention to detail

• You are a quick learner who picks up new tools, systems, and context without hand-holding

• You have worked in or around premium consumer or retail environments and are comfortable on the floor, not just behind a desk

• You are looking for a role where you can grow, take on real responsibility, and be part of building something meaningful

Compensation

• Monthly retainer: $4,000–$5,000 depending on experience

• Part-time to start, 20–25 hours per week, with a clear path to full-time as the business scales

• Direct access to the founder and exposure across every part of a growing multi-studio brand
