Location: Remote (Preference for candidates based in the Dallas–Fort Worth metro area; travel up to 50%)
Family Office Overview
Our client, a multi-faceted family office, operates across a diversified platform that includes a private equity–style investment arm, corporate entities, and nonprofit affiliations. The family office plays a hands-on role in managing direct investments, corporate operations, and philanthropic initiatives. With partners based in the DFW area, the team meets in person at least once a week when not traveling to portfolio company sites or other investment locations.
Position Overview
The Chief of Staff will serve as a trusted advisor and operational partner to the family office leadership, ensuring alignment and execution across investment, corporate, and philanthropic activities. This individual will provide strategic oversight, drive operational efficiency, and manage cross-functional initiatives across a multi-entity environment.
The ideal candidate will have prior experience in private equity, investment management, or family office operations and possess the ability to seamlessly move between strategy and execution. While the position is remote, candidates based in the DFW area are strongly preferred, as the partners meet in person regularly and travel frequently to investment sites nationwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Partnering: Work closely with the family office principals and senior leadership to prioritize initiatives, manage key projects, and ensure alignment across investment, corporate, and nonprofit functions.
- Operational Oversight: Develop and refine processes that improve execution across multiple entities while maintaining flexibility and efficiency.
- Investment Support: Provide analytical and strategic support to the private equity–style investment arm, including diligence coordination, deal evaluation, and portfolio performance tracking.
- Cross-Entity Coordination: Act as a liaison between the investment team, corporate holdings, and nonprofit entities to ensure streamlined communication, reporting, and operational consistency.
- Board & Stakeholder Management: Prepare materials for board meetings, investor updates, and portfolio reviews; maintain effective communication with key stakeholders.
- Project Management: Lead high-priority initiatives from inception to completion, ensuring accountability and measurable outcomes.
- Advisor Role: Serve as a sounding board to leadership—anticipating needs, identifying opportunities, and proactively mitigating risks.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in a private equity firm, family office, or investment management environment strongly preferred.
- Proven ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, multi-entity setting with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong financial acumen and understanding of investment analysis and portfolio management.
- Excellent communication, relationship management, and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated success in driving operational and strategic alignment across teams.
- High degree of flexibility and professionalism, with the ability to manage competing priorities and frequent travel.
