Position Overview:

The Chief of Staff (CoS) at Women Leaders in Data and AI (WLDA) will play a critical role in supporting the CEO and leadership team in driving the organization’s strategic priorities, managing daily operations, and fostering cross-functional collaboration. This is a high-impact role responsible for managing key projects, ensuring alignment across departments, and enabling efficient decision-making at the executive level. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker, excellent communicator, and an organized professional with a passion for promoting equity in the tech industry.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning and Execution:

• Work closely with the CEO and leadership team to develop and implement strategic initiatives that advance WLDA’s mission.

• Drive the organization’s annual and quarterly planning processes, ensuring alignment across all departments.

• Monitor progress on strategic goals, KPIs, and key projects, providing regular updates to the CEO.

Operational Management:

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of WLDA, ensuring organizational efficiency and effectiveness.

• Manage cross-functional projects and initiatives, coordinating with teams across departments.

• Lead internal operational processes, optimizing workflows and improving efficiency.

• Prepare materials and agendas for executive meetings, leadership offsites, and board meetings.

Communication and Stakeholder Management:

• Serve as a key point of contact between the CEO and internal/external stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and prioritization.

• Facilitate communication between the CEO, Board of Directors, and Advisory Council, ensuring timely updates, transparency, and alignment on strategic goals.

• Draft, review, and edit executive-level communications, presentations, and reports.

• Represent WLDA in meetings and communications with key stakeholders, as needed.

Board and Council Communication:

• Serve as the main liaison for communication between the CEO, Board of Advisory, and Council Leaders.

• Coordinate and prepare reports, presentations, and other materials for board and council meetings.

• Ensure alignment between the board and executive leadership on organizational priorities and strategic initiatives.

• Track and manage follow-up actions from board and council meetings, ensuring that decisions and requests are properly executed.

Team Coordination and Support:

• Foster collaboration between departments, ensuring that teams are aligned and working towards shared goals.

• Act as a liaison between the CEO and leadership team, providing support and streamlining communication.

• Help manage the leadership team’s time and priorities, including scheduling, task management, and tracking progress.

Leadership and Organizational Development:

• Support the growth and development of WLDA’s leadership team, identifying opportunities for team building and professional development.

• Lead special initiatives focused on organizational growth, operational improvement, and talent development.

• Help build and maintain a positive, inclusive, and high-performing culture at WLDA.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, organizational management, or a related field. A master’s degree or MBA is a plus.

• 5+ years of experience in a senior management role, preferably in a fast-growing organization, tech startup, or nonprofit.

• Strong project management skills with the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives from concept to execution.

• Proven experience in strategic planning, process improvement, and operational management.

• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.

• Experience working with boards and councils, including preparing reports, managing follow-ups, and facilitating communication.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.

• High degree of emotional intelligence, discretion, and professionalism.

• Passion for advancing women’s leadership in data, AI, and technology.
