Chief of Staff
Job Description:
Our client in the retail health and personal care products industry is hiring a Chief of Staff (Marketing)!
Role Summary
This is a senior executive role responsible for the full operational execution of the core brand and the operational launch and scaling of a new brand. You will run the business while the Founder focuses primarily on strategy, creative direction, and new brand launches.
Initial time allocation:
- 60% Core Brand
- 40% New Brand (launch phase)
This role is designed for a proven Integrator, not a manager or specialist.
Key Responsibilities
Core Brand
- Own day-to-day execution across growth, operations, and finance
- Execute existing scaling playbooks (subscription, paid media, creative production, channel diversification)
- Manage and hold accountable senior department heads across:
- Paid Media / Growth
- Creative Operations
- Operations & Fulfillment
- Retention / Email
- CRO / Tech
- Run weekly leadership meetings and KPI reviews
- Handle all operational escalations and “firefighting”
- Hire and terminate senior leaders as required (with founder approval on hires)
New Brand (Launch Brand)
- Build full operating infrastructure (3PL, fulfillment, CS, merchant accounts)
- Coordinate shared resources between both brands
- Lead operational launch execution
- Hire and manage the new brand’s growth team
- Scale the brand post-launch to $1M+/month
Portfolio-Level
- Weekly portfolio strategy review with Founder
- Own operating systems, reporting, and execution cadence
- Shield Founder from day-to-day operational decisions
Required Experience
- 10+ years of DTC e-commerce experience
- Prior role as COO, VP Operations, or equivalent at a $15M+ DTC brand
- Full P&L ownership, including marketing and paid acquisition
- Direct oversight of $500K+/month+ in paid media spend
- Deep understanding of CAC, LTV, ROAS, contribution margin
- Experience managing multiple brands or product lines simultaneously
- Proven authority to hire and fire senior leaders
- Ability to solve complex operational and marketing problems under pressure
- Supplement, consumables, or subscription experience strongly preferred
