With a team of engineers and researchers from Tesla, Stanford, DeepMind, and Neuralink and backed by over $30M from top-tier VCs- this Bay Area startup is developing what they believe will be the most advanced home robot on the market.
They’re hiring a Chief of Staff to partner with the Director of Operations and help scale internal functions across HR, finance, and operations. This is a high-impact role for someone who’s ready to take ownership in a fast-paced, mission-driven startup. You’ll help build the internal backbone of one of the most exciting robotics companies on the rise.
About the Role:
This role sits at the heart of the company’s internal operations. You’ll work closely with leadership and department heads to ensure systems, people, and processes are running efficiently—and evolving as the company grows.
Operations & Strategic Support
- Partner with the Director of Operations to manage key cross-functional initiatives and drive day-to-day execution.
- Lead and support special projects that improve systems, tools, and workflows across teams.
- Identify operational bottlenecks and help the organization run smarter, faster, and more efficiently.
People & HR Operations
- Oversee employee onboarding/offboarding, benefits administration, and compliance tracking.
- Coordinate recruitment logistics, including interview scheduling and candidate communication.
- Maintain HR policies, employee records, and support the performance review process.
Finance & Administrative Coordination
- Manage daily financial operations such as bookkeeping, expense tracking, and vendor payments.
- Liaise with external accountants on payroll, monthly close, tax prep, and financial reporting.
- Assist with budget tracking and support leadership with financial insights as needed.
(Bonus: Executive Support)
While not required, this role may occasionally involve high-trust administrative support for the CEO (e.g., calendar prioritization or coordination), depending on interest and fit.
What We’re Looking For:
- 4–7 years of experience in operations, HR, finance, or administrative leadership—preferably in startups or other high-growth settings.
- Track record in roles like Chief of Staff, BizOps, Generalist, or similar, with exposure to executive leadership.
- Strong systems-thinker who enjoys problem-solving and thrives on clarity, structure, and execution.
- Proactive, adaptable, and energized by new challenges.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing complex workflows.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiar with tools like QuickBooks, Gusto, Notion, Asana, and Google Workspace.
- Discreet and trustworthy- able to handle sensitive information with professionalism.
