Summary:
Lunar Accel is hiring a part-time Chief of Staff (COS) to lead operational sustainability efforts for Lunar Accel's various programs, as well as day-to-day administrative tasks. This is an exciting opportunity to work directly with the Co-Founders, the Board of Directors, and the volunteer leadership team to operationalize existing programs, lead new initiatives, and manage year-round events and partnerships. The ideal candidate is passionate about AAPI leadership and empowerment, comfortable wearing multiple hats, and has a strong interest in pursuing a long-term career in nonprofits, NGOs, or think tanks.
Key Responsibilities
- Career Accelerator Program Management (spring): Operationalize/automate internal planning processes for our annual flagship career accelerator program
- Gala Development (fall): Execute upon vision as laid out by the Gala Committee
- Partnerships: Manage strategic relationships, e.g., with other nonprofits, venues, ERGs, etc.
- Business as Usual: Provide support on year-round events where needed
Qualifications
- Experience in program management, partnerships, event planning, and culture-building
- Passionate about AAPI leadership and empowerment
- Excellent written communication skills
- Self-starter, bias for action, and entrepreneurial mindset
- Experience with design tools such as Canva a plus
- Experience with website management platforms such as Squarespace a plus
- Experience/interest in leveraging AI tools a strong plus
- Prior experience in a nonprofit, NGO, or think tank a plus, but not required
- Preference for 2+ year duration of commitment
Working hours:
- This is a part-time role at 10 hours/week (may vary depending on season)
- Requires regular meetings on weekends (1-2 hours/weekend) and additional on-site staffing depending on event scheduling
- Possibility of converting to more hours/week depending on organization growth
Location
- While this role is primarily remote, candidates should be based in the New York City metro area
- Optionality to co-work out of WeWork near Times Square during select weekdays
Compensation:
- $20-35/hr depending on experience
