🚚 About Double Nickel

We’re building agentic recruiting software that rewrites how drivers get hired—and gives fleets a faster, smarter way to build their teams.

Trucking moves over 70% of the nation’s freight—but recruiting systems haven’t kept up. Fleets operate in a world of high-volume hiring, strict compliance requirements, high turnover, and urgency to fill roles fast—yet they’re still stuck with manual processes, disconnected tools, and slow qualification workflows.

Drivers fall through the cracks. Recruiters are buried in manual follow-ups. Hiring goals slip. We’re here to change that. Our AI agents automate the most painful parts of recruiting—engaging applicants, gathering qualifications, and accelerating time-to-hire without cutting corners. In the last 4 months, we’ve grown 4x in revenue. We're early— we’re moving fast, and the need has never been greater.

👥 About Us

Double Nickel was founded by Francisco Lopez Roualdes (CEO) and Elif Kinli (CTO)—two builders with deep conviction that recruiting for essential industries should be faster, smarter, and radically more automated. - Francisco Lopez Roualdes spent nearly a decade at BCG, advising companies across industries on strategy and operations. He later joined Clip, one of Latin America’s leading fintechs, where he led their lending business—building and scaling financial products from the ground up. - Elif Kinli was a Senior Software Engineer at Amazon, where she worked across teams focused on machine learning, data visualization, and workflow orchestration. Her work spanned internal AI infrastructure and analytics tools used by some of Amazon’s most complex operations.

We’re product-minded, customer-obsessed, and move with urgency. We don’t come from trucking—we come from systems thinking, automation, and environments where speed matters. We’re impatient with problems, allergic to passiveness, and expect people to take ownership, not wait for it to be handed over.

🎯 About the Role

We’re looking for a Chief of Staff to operate at the heart of the company. This is a foundational role for someone who thrives in ambiguity, moves fast without waiting for permission, and wants to build systems—not just run them.

You’ll work directly with the founders to drive high-priority initiatives across operations, product, GTM, hiring, and fundraising. Some days you’ll be building dashboards and drafting board updates. Other days you’ll be writing playbooks, launching new internal tools, or hiring the next 5 key team members. This role is as broad as the company’s most urgent problems—and we’ll expect you to figure out what those are before we even ask.

If you’re looking for a highly structured environment, this isn’t for you. If you’re ready to help build a category-defining company from the inside, we want to meet you.

🧠 You Might Be a Fit If You Are...

  • Owner-first – You don’t wait for permission. You see a gap, take the lead, and bring others with you.
  • Scrappy & resourceful – You figure things out fast, even when the path is messy or unclear.
  • Productive under pressure – You manage competing priorities, move fast, and don’t drop balls.
  • Customer-obsessed – You care deeply about solving real problems for real people, and you get close to the user.
  • Low-ego, high-candor – You’re direct, collaborative, and focused on outcomes, not credit.
  • Analytically sharp – You think in systems, spot patterns, and are comfortable with dashboards, spreadsheets, and (ideally) SQL.

📌 Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in consulting, investment banking, private equity, or early-stage startups—environments where speed and ownership are non-negotiable
  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative or analytical field (e.g., CS, engineering, finance, economics, math)
  • Proven ability to own and deliver cross-functional projects from zero to one
  • Exceptional communicator—clear, concise, and comfortable engaging with both technical teams and customers
  • Bonus: You’ve worked directly with founders, juggled shifting priorities, and thrived without a playbook

💼 What to expect

  • Real ownership – Competitive salary + meaningful early-stage equity
  • In-person collaboration – We’re based in Brooklyn, NY, and work together 3–5 days/week to move fast and build trust
  • Comprehensive benefits – Health insurance + unlimited PTO
