Chief of Staff / Business Operations Manager

Location: New York City (please note this role currently requires Monday to Wednesday in our office on Madison Square Park, with the balance working remotely, however this policy may change in the future).

The firm targets investment opportunities in recurring revenue businesses in the lower middle-market where they bring significant investment experience, a deep network of strategic relationships, and a track record of helping businesses scale through organic growth and M&A.
Job Description:
The Chief of Staff / Business Operations Manager will play a critical role in supporting the Founder & CEO and senior leadership in ensuring the execution of key objectives across the firm. This is a unique position for someone with a passion for organization, project management, and a strong desire to build, improve, and maintain operational processes to help scale a business. The core mission of this role will be to provide leverage to the Founder & CEO across investor relations & fundraising, business development, PR and marketing, due diligence & deal execution, and management of the existing portfolio. In this role, attention to detail and focus on executing repeatable, scalable processes will help ensure that the business has the foundation needed for continued growth. This role reports directly to the Founder & CEO but will work closely with the CFO and investment team.
What Youâll Do:
- Serve as an extension of the CEO in both project managing and performing a wide range of tasks related to the operations of the business, while tracking progress of all key workstreams across the organization
- Support CEO and CFO in all aspects of investor relations and fundraising, including maintaining the CRM, managing the quarterly reporting process, creating and updating fund marketing materials, and coordinating LP-related meetings and activities
- Help manage brand-building initiatives relating to public relations, conference attendance, firm marketing, and communications (both firmwide and LP-specific)
- Help manage relationships with a wide range of firm partners, vendors and other external counterparties and stakeholders
- Help support strategic initiatives related to existing portfolio companies, with a particular emphasis on internally incubated platforms and roll up businesses
- Support execution of key strategic projects for our portfolio companies (e.g., strategic acquisitions, recruiting, events, etc.)
- Work alongside the deal team to coordinate and support the teamâs execution of time-sensitive, high-intensity projects, such as deal closings and later-stage due diligence of potential new investments
- Develop business processes that are repeatable and scalable
- Develop, improve, and maintain internal project management systems to support the investment teamâs workstreams (e.g. deal sourcing, underwriting, due diligence, closing)
- Assist in planning firm events and contribute to investment theme research on a quarterly basis
What Weâre Looking For:
- Minimum 3-8+ years of relevant professional experience (in a project management or operations-oriented role)
- Candidates may come from management or due diligence consulting, fintech, investment banking, or other project-based professional services
- Demonstrated experience and ability to succeed in intensive and high-performing professional environments
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Extremely process-driven approach to project management and ability to multi-task initiatives in a rapidly changing environment
- Familiarity with CRM and project management tools such as Asana, Monday, Trello, etc. (team currently uses Affinity CRM, Microsoft Suite and Smartsheets)
- Significant experience working in cross-functional teams
- Exceptionally results-oriented and natural desire to manage tasks to completion
- Strong interpersonal skills; thrives in team-based environments
- Strong ethical standards and trustworthiness

Compensation:
Base salary starts at $180,000. Compensation also includes an annual cash bonus.
