Our client is a rapidly expanding company focused on shaping the future of robotic automation. The company designs, manufactures, and integrates custom robotic automation solutions for various industries including Pharma, Food and a few others. They serve an international customer base, enabling increased efficiency and competitiveness for their clients.

Opportunity

Reporting to the CEO and Operations Director, as the Operations Manager you will lead operations and production to facilitate ongoing enhancements in project management and operational efficiency, internal procedures, and work in progress (WIP) to optimize project profitability and foster growth and enhancement within the division of the company.

You will oversee the fabrication, assembly, and commissioning departments, along with warehouse and plant operations. Additionally, you'll be responsible for project delivery, production scheduling, budget assessment, monitoring project timelines and work in progress, estimating costs and labor, leading Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), delivering documentation to clients, and managing staffing needs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day operations of project-based manufacturing.
  • Support Project Managers and Assembly/Commissioning Team for timely project completion.
  • Foster teamwork, continuous improvement, and customer excellence.
  • Drive project management excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure timely input of labor, WIP, and timelines into reporting tools.
  • Manage multiple automation/robotics projects.
  • Coordinate with design team and address design/software issues.
  • Supervise field service team for optimal customer service.
  • Ensure high-quality customer focus and adherence to company policies.
  • Develop and coach SCRUM, GANTT, and other project management tools.
  • Lead operations planning and identify project risks.
  • Provide servant leadership and support team adherence to Scrum principles.
  • Organize work schedule and monitor achievement of milestones.
  • Manage cash-flow and P&L responsibility.
  • Facilitate client-facing meetings and site visits.
  • Organize on-site Commissioning teams and maintain regular feedback.
  • Ensure accountability and identify talent for reassignment/promotion.
  • Address skills and capacity gaps through active recruitment.
  • Maintain a sense of urgency and positivity among staff and clients.

Key Performance Indicators

  • Achieve financial targets and reduce production/purchase costs.
  • Enhance supplier relationships and achieve customer service targets.
  • Maintain and improve competitiveness and compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Ensure appropriate EHS policies and procedures, maintain site order and safety.
  • Demonstrate safe working procedures and maintain good housekeeping standards.
  • Improve efficiency by eliminating waste in accordance with company procedures.

Requirements

Technical Capabilities/Competencies:

  • 5+ years of experience in automation, engineering, and robotics, specializing in machine building and computerized system applications.
  • Proven track record in project management and operational enhancement within project-based manufacturing settings.
  • Proficient in Mechanical, Electrical & Software troubleshooting, with leadership experience in resolving complex issues and implementing solutions in mechatronics, PLC/servo, robotics, conveyance, material handling, and motion control.
