Overview

As Chief of Staff at Weedmaps, you will take on a wide range of responsibilities to support the Chief Technology Officer and the technology organization as a whole. You’ll help manage the tech organization by streamlining strategic initiatives, overseeing program management, and communicating objectives to departments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee strategic technology initiatives, from development through successful execution, under the guidance of senior leadership and functional leaders.
  • Assist and communicate with technology leaders and employees as needed to support decision-making, program management, and the successful execution of initiatives.
  • Improve current processes and optimize organizational procedures for efficiency and productivity.
  • Support the CTO and partner with the broader Engineering, Product, and Design teams, and their leaders.
  • Share unbiased insights and develop recommendations as needed.
  • Attend meetings on behalf of the CTO and act as a representative when required.
  • Create and maintain the infrastructure for efficient operations.
  • Drive various cross-functional projects to completion
  • Help the CTO to prioritize and track critical issues and projects.
  • Keep a pulse on organizational health to inform decisions and ensure continuous improvement and scalability.
  • Lead, direct, and be accountable for the overall performance of various project teams and ensure successful delivery of initiatives.
  • Provide weekly Reports, Scorecards, and Dashboards to the CTO.
  • Investigate and help resolve cross-functional issues that impact the technology teams.
  • Partner with Finance to develop and manage technology budgets and financial resource allocations.
  • Partner with HR to drive organizational and personnel changes as needed.
  • Be a general resource and point of contact for the Technology teams and the broader organization as needed.

What You've Accomplished

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in operations consulting/strategy/stakeholder and project management or related experience; some high-growth operations or startup experience is strongly preferred.
  • Experience in organizing and managing multiple teams.
  • Experience in planning and leading complex strategic initiatives.
  • Experience in Program Management and/or Business Operations.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, strategic, and process driven.
  • Strong interpersonal skills: ability to communicate, present, influence, and explain across multiple cross-functional stakeholders and management levels.
  • Ability to define metrics for success and track KPIs towards those metrics.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Entrepreneurial: you’re a self-starter who loves to own things from start to completion. You make things happen and don’t need to ask for permission first.
  • Ability to influence at all levels in the organization.
  • Ability to effectively adjust in a dynamic, ever-changing environment.
  • Ability to make timely, effective, and principled decisions.

  • Computer Science or similar technical degree.
