The Chief of Staff Role

We are looking for a Chief of Staff to partner closely with Peregrine’s Chief Executive Officer to drive maximum impact from his activities. In this position, you will prioritize, nurture, and execute the company’s most important growth initiatives with our CEO and the broader leadership team. You will build the execution plan and assemble the right teammates & resources to achieve outcomes that matter for the business. Your impact will directly contribute to the near-term & long-term success of Peregrine.

While the bulk of your time will be externally facing, you will also play an important cross-functional role internally. You’ll partner closely with the CEO’s Executive Assistant and various Department Heads to ensure the CEO is effectively and efficiently engaging in his responsibilities in managing the business. Finally, you will always be looking to make lateral connections that link the many opportunities that come out of the CEO’s external engagements back into the internal business owners who can make sure they convert into impact for the company.

  • You are a strategist & a tactician – you can engage on the most important, strategic & conceptual matters facing the business, drive to decisions & priorities, and translate those into action plans that can result in tangible value for Peregrine.
  • You are a master of complex project management with meticulous attention to detail, multi-threaded execution, and swift follow-through on each action item.
  • You are a polished and clear communicator who builds trust with company leaders.
  • You deliver results through others by assembling the right people, driving to alignment against a clear plan, and ensuring that progress happens against important goals. You do this through primarily informal authority over the internal & external players involved.
  • You can synthesize, value spot, and connect the lateral dots. You think five steps ahead and take the initiative to ensure the CEO has everything he needs to be successful.
  • You are deeply service-oriented; you care about our customers and their ability to make the best decisions for their communities.

What We Look For

  • 5+ years building scalable SaaS organizations (high growth startup experience a plus).
  • Proven track record of driving success with C-Suite leaders and maximizing growth and impact in existing/emerging markets.
  • Product fluency in data platforms, exposure to government solutions strongly preferred.
  • Proficient in relationship management among customers, leadership, investors, and other critical stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Located in San Francisco, California (hybrid work is acceptable).
  • A willingness to travel 75%+ of your time with our CEO.
