Position Overview:

As the Chief of Staff for CTO, you will serve as a crucial right-hand person to the Engineering leadership, providing strategic and operational support to ensure efficient functioning and alignment within the engineering organization. Your responsibilities will involve a combination of project management, cross-functional collaboration, strategic planning, and operational oversight.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning: Collaborate with engineering leadership to define and execute the strategic roadmap for the engineering department.
  • Assist in developing and implementing long-term strategies, setting goals, and defining key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure success.
  • Operational Efficiency: Drive operational excellence within the engineering organization by identifying areas for improvement and implementing efficient processes.
  • Streamline workflows and communication channels to enhance productivity and cohesion across engineering teams.
  • Project Management: Oversee major engineering projects, ensuring they are completed within scope, budget, and timeline.
  • Facilitate project planning, execution, and delivery by coordinating with various teams and stakeholders.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Foster collaboration between engineering and other departments (product, design, marketing, etc.) to facilitate seamless execution of cross-functional initiatives.
  • Act as a liaison between engineering and other departments, ensuring alignment of goals and priorities.
  • Team Development and Culture: Support the professional growth and development of engineering team members.
  • Contribute to fostering a positive and inclusive work culture within the engineering department.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Utilize data-driven insights to track progress, identify trends, and present reports to the engineering leadership team.
  • Analyze metrics to make informed decisions and drive improvements.
  • Leadership Support: Provide direct support to the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) in various capacities, including preparing materials for meetings, conducting research, and managing special projects.
  • Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. MBA or relevant business experience is a plus.
  • Proven experience in a senior leadership, operations, or project management role within an engineering or technology-driven organization.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of interacting with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate strategies into actionable plans.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools.
  • Leadership qualities and the ability to motivate and inspire teams.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
