We are seeking a highly experienced and talented professional to join our team in the role of Chief of Staff to our Chief Executive Officer. This is a unique opportunity to work on a day-to-day basis with our CEO on a range of strategic, operational, and client-specific areas of our business. This position plays a critical role in collaborating with our CEO and the entire executive team on both strategy and execution. The team is looking to elevate innovation while predictably maximizing cash flow, improving operating efficiency and discipline, building one connected Smarsh, and igniting high-margin business. This role will have a real and direct impact on the growth trajectory of our company and the opportunity to showcase your ability to solve multifaceted problems through thought leadership, influence, and execution prowess.

How will you contribute?

  • Thought partner to the CEO and the CEO staff on major strategies and initiatives. Vital to help synthesize future directions, conclusions, and key actions. The individual needs to add insight and help with direction based on his/her own experiences and business acumen.
  • Responsible for ensuring that our CEO continues to be positioned to have the greatest impact with our employees, customers, and investors. In this capacity, the role will be responsible for partnering with the CEO to establish meeting agendas, project timelines, and accountability mechanisms to ensure that follow-up actions are clearly articulated and completed.
  • Partner with the CEO to ensure she is highly prepared to drive the business forward in sessions with our Board of Directors, Executive Leadership both internal and external to Smarsh, our employees, and our investors. In this capacity, the Chief of Staff will leverage industry and business expertise to work with stakeholders across the business and industry to synthesize information and turn it into meaningful insight to create value.
  • Anticipates opportunities and challenges that are likely to arise based on the cadence of the business and helps the CEO see around corners.

What will you bring?

  • A highly qualified candidate would have at least 7-10 years of proven senior leadership experience, including leading one or many areas of a complex global business or consulting practice.
  • An ability to get to the root cause of challenges fast and bring creative and innovative solutions and a proven track record of execution – i.e., knowing the right thing to focus on and then being able to get it done.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively across different areas of a global and customer-centric business. This typically requires experience in leading teams of teams with areas of focus greater than one particular business area.
  • The ideal candidate would have a knowledge of the SaaS industry and/or the enterprise information archiving industry.

$200,000 - $260,000 a year

The above salary range represents Smarsh's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible base compensation at the time of posting. Any applicable bonus programs will be discussed during the recruiting process.

The salary for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, location, specialty, and training.

Local cost of living assessments are done for each new hire at the time of offer.
