I've been on a chief of staff team for a private financial services company (USAA) for six years. I left this year to take the Chief of Staff role to the CEO and COO at Allcat, which is owned by a private equity firm. I'm looking for a COS mentor who is also working for a company owned by a private equity firm and learn from him/her what I need to do to get this company ready for an eventual sell. PEs, Investment banks, this is a whole new world to me. USAA is a member owned insurance company and my last turn with a public company (Allstate) was 13 years ago.
