About The Role
New Verticals is a fast-growing startup within Uber that enables consumers to get just about anything delivered through the Uber Eats app or UberEats.com! It is the delivery of everything that isn't restaurant food - think groceries, essentials, alcohol, flowers, and more.
As Senior Strategy & Operations Manager, you will work cross-functionally with other Uber teams (i.e. Support, Product, Legal, Account Management) and lead high impact and scaled initiatives focused on our merchant partners (Albertsons, Costco, 7-Eleven, and more) that can exponentially grow this new arm of the Uber Eats business.
This role calls for a well-rounded combination of strategic thinking, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills! We operate in a fast-paced environment. We are looking for a highly adaptable candidate who is able to adjust between long-term critical initiatives one moment and rapid, tactical actions the next.
What You'll Do
Strategy - Build business plans to operate optimally to make our New Verticals business efficient and the experience better for end usersAct as the main point of contact for our Community Operations teams to establish New Vertical specific policies and business standardsBuild and implement initiatives to improve the volume of merchant-driven defects and ensure a quality experience for Uber Eats usersFind efficiencies in our spend across refunds and appeasements and balance the experience across the marketplaceProject Management - Identify, plan, and implement projects and root cause analyses to improve our existing processes and policies for operations and merchant programs.Stakeholder management - Orchestrate and bring together the work of a wide range of cross-functional stakeholders. This includes Operations, Product, Finance, Account Management, Support, Policy, Communications and Legal while driving accountability to ensure deadlines are met.
4+ years of professional work experience in a related field (consulting, technology, entrepreneurship, operations, strategy, or analytics)
Bachelor's degreeStrong Excel/Google Sheets or SQL proficiencyAbility to thrive in a fast-paced and ambiguous environmentExperience problem solving, proposing unique solutions to complex issues, and building and executing complex processesProven ability to balance multiple critical tasks and consistently delivering against hard deadlinesStrong collaboration and stakeholder management skills - building deep, trust-based relationships with territory and cross functional teamsUnparalleled business judgment and critical thinking skills with the ability to use data to quickly develop strategies and make decisions

Offices continue to be central to collaboration and Uber’s cultural identity. For Chicago, IL-based roles: The base salary range for this role is $105,000 per year - $117,000 per year. For Dallas, TX-based roles: The base salary range for this role is $105,000 per year - $117,000 per year. For Miami, FL-based roles: The base salary range for this role is $105,000 per year - $117,000 per year. For New York, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is $117,000 per year - $130,000 per year. For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is $117,000 per year - $130,000 per year. For all US locations, you will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
