About The Team

IT Vendor Relations Specialist/Mgr: Maintains the relationships and monitors performance of information technology vendors contracted for the delivery of outsourced services. Works closely with the information technology user groups and contracted service providers to assess internal needs and vendor performance. Establishes and monitors service level agreements. Audits contractual compliance, solicits feedback from users, and communicates scorecards to vendors. Coordinates lifecycle activities such as incident management, compliance audits, software licensing and software/hardware upgrades and maintenance. Performs cost and spend analysis to identify cost effective solutions for existing and future contracts. Survey Tip: This position requires a solid technical background and is involved with day-to-day activities surrounding vendor performance. Individuals who work specifically on contract negotiations should be matched to Commercial Contracts Admin.

About The Role

We are looking for an analyst with deep knowledge and experience about public clouds and cost management. This job contains technical aspects, such as understanding Workday’s technology stack, working closely with the platform engineering team and environment operations team to define tagging of Workday Services with public cloud resources, outlining cloud strategy, analyzing cloud billing data using data analysis tools as well as 3rd party tools like CloudHealth. This role will enable tracking real time consumption& costs, drive cost optimization, and develop understanding of our unit economics.

Duties& Responsibilities

Public (AWS, Azure, GCP) analysis of actuals to budget / forecast, analyze key areas of waste and optimization, utilization rates, etc.Extract and analyze large scale data within cloud billing and usage, to support senior engineering and financial partners in decision making.Describe and implement opportunities for price optimizations initiatives with public cloud vendors including Reserved Instances (RIs) and Monthly Savings Plans.Identification, implementation, and maintenance of AWS Key Performance Indicators

About You

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and/or combination of cloud work experience.5+ years of public cloud (AWS, GCP, Azure) budget analysis.2+ years of experience in a cloud business operations role with an emphasis on cost optimization.

Other Qualifications

Experience with KPI modelingExperience with cloud costing models and forecasting.Specialized expertise in public clouds (AWS / Azure / GCP) with a FinOps or cloud financial management lens. Solid understanding of applications infrastructure requirements.Understanding of AWS requirements for engineering capacity.Ability to extract and analyze sophisticated datasets using well optimized SQL queries, Python and/or R. Can configure analytics platforms like Tableau, to prepare dashboards and reports.

The annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations in the United States (US) are listed below. Workday pay ranges vary based on work location. As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants. Primary Location Base Pay Range: $149,500 - $224,300

Additional US Location(s) Base Pay Range: $135,300 - $240,000
