Operations Manager | Stockton
Your responsibilities
thyssenkrupp SCS has an exciting opportunity for internal candidates with excellent performance and a strong desire to move up within the organization. We are currently seeking an Operations Manager to be based out of the Stockton Site in Stockton, CA. The Operations Manager will be an expert in all of the warehouse, logistical and Supply Chain processes, with specific knowledge of best practices and physical constraints. This position will also develop a comprehensive knowledge of the warehouse management system as well as oversee the 6S and safety related functions within the facility. The key responsibilities of the Operations Manager position include, but are not limited to the following:
- Responsible for the day to day operations of the business unit assigned to
- Oversee daily functions of all warehouse employees and drivers
- Responsible for overseeing health and safety activities of the business unit
- Responsible for overseeing 6S activities pertaining to Lean Manufacturing of the business unit
- Responsible for overseeing and maintaining the Quality Management System certification to the ISO 9001:2000 Standard
- Conducts analysis of reports relating to sales, volume, payroll, employee turnover, monthly operational and capital expense budgets
- Prepares reports to communicate operational performance and overall performance of the facility to the Executive team
- Develop and implement strong profit and loss and budgeting skills
- Oversee and negotiate contracts with outside vendors
- Review financial statements, sales and activities reports, and other performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement
- Ensure that customer needs are met and complaints are resolved
- Works with Sales Manager to design and implement sales strategies to achieve revenue goals
- Adheres to company policies and procedures. Ensures employees are knowledgeable and compliant with company policies and procedures
- Attend and actively participate in monthly operations meeting
- Maintains complete and open lines of communication between the warehouse and corporate office to facilitate efficient warehouse operations
Your profile
- A degree/diploma in business or related field
- 5+ years supervisory and/or management experience within warehousing/manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of safety, ISO, and Lean principles
- Basic knowledge of employment/labor laws and employee records requirements
