Fractional Chief of Staff
About Plug In Ventures
Plug In Ventures is the center point for inclusion in the tech ecosystem. Our mission is to empower and elevate underrepresented founders—especially Black and Brown entrepreneurs—through structured programming, access to capital, and strategic mentorship. As a 10-year-old LA-based accelerator, we drive founder success through our Plug In Tech Accelerator, Power Huddles, and our growing national community.
We are agile, ambitious, and community-driven. We're now seeking a fractional Chief of Staff to serve as a force multiplier for the CEO and leadership team—someone who thrives in high-growth, impact-driven environments and can help sharpen our operations, amplify our reach, and deepen our impact.
Role Overview
The Chief of Staff will work closely with the CEO and executive leadership to align strategy and execution across programs, operations, fundraising, and growth initiatives. This is a highly cross-functional role responsible for driving key organizational priorities forward, solving operational challenges, and managing strategic projects across multiple workstreams.
You will help steer Plug In’s next phase of growth—including geographic expansion (NYC/Atlanta), evolution of our accelerator, and building sustainable revenue/fundraising streams.

- Translate big-picture goals into clear roadmaps and success metrics.
- Develop and implement KPIs, scorecards, and feedback loops to measure progress.
Program Oversight & Optimization
- Partner with the CEO to refine and scale our programming—ensuring it’s high-impact, consistent, and measurable.
- Help source and onboard a contract Program Manager for the next accelerator cohort.
- Lead post-program strategies to connect founders with capital, mentorship, and resources.
Capital & Fundraising Strategy
- Develop and execute a capital access roadmap for founders to meet funding goals before year-end.
- Support identification and onboarding of a Director of Advancement & External Affairs.
- Contribute to development of a long-term fundraising and revenue model (donations platform, partnerships, etc.).
Internal Ops & Team Management
- Assess and recommend org structure changes to meet evolving program and team needs.
- Lead internal ops projects (e.g., team development, 10th anniversary planning, board retreat).
- Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and excellence.
Market Expansion & Strategic Projects
- Lead GTM research and planning for new markets (NYC, Atlanta).
- Conduct competitive/landscape analysis and articulate Plug In’s unique value prop.
- Project manage special initiatives and serve as thought partner to the CEO.
