We are looking for a Chief of Staff to work directly with our CEO and co-founder, Alex Rodrigues, as we scale and grow our business on a variety of high impact projects. The Chief of Staff is a strategic and integral member of the team, serving as a force multiplier for the CEO. Without being tied to a specific project or team, you will work directly with Alex on the projects that are most in need of executive attention month to month.
The Chief of Staff to our CEO is a unique opportunity for those who are excited about startups. You will get to work closely with Alex and understand what goes on behind the scenes at a high growth startup. You do not need to be an expert in any of the topics, but you must be willing to work hard and learn fast. The ideal candidate is a generalist with an eye for detail, a willingness to get into the weeds, and a record of excellence in whatever they do. This individual must have the ability to build strong business relationships, think strategically, and execute in a hands-on manner.
- Plan, coordinate, and prioritize the agenda and activities of the CEO while ensuring no CEO responsibilities and deliverables fall through the cracks.- Attend meetings with the CEO, prepare briefs, take notes and coordinate follow-up.- Manage Executive Assistant to the CEO- Take an analytical eye to poorly defined research or strategy questions and independently develop a structured perspective.- Continuously learn context about Embark and CEO priorities. Strive to develop an intuition for “what would Alex say”.- Support CEO decision making as a right hand.- Develop and manage both internal and external CEO Office communications in a way that demonstrates a deep understanding of message content and impact on the intended audience.- Solicit relevant input and prepare presentations for internal and external audiences, including bi-weekly company wide All Hands and quarterly Board meetings.
- 2-4 years experience in management consulting, investment banking, VC/PE/growth fund, Big Tech, or startups.- Previous success as Chief of Staff or principal support role.- Experience developing presentations and strategic narratives for executives or senior level stakeholders. - The ability to multitask and prioritize with changes in scale, scope, and project deadlines.- A track record of successfully owning projects from start to finish.- An ego-free attitude that in the same day can go from presenting and interfacing with C-Suite leadership to drafting emails on behalf of the CEO
