We're on a mission to modernize finance for construction, an industry that employs 1 out of every 10 workers, but lacks good software tools to get the job done. Payments in construction are fundamentally broken — the antiquated billing process hasn't evolved in decades, and construction is one of the slowest industries to get paid in. We've found a unique wedge into this huge market and are growing quickly.

Millions of hardworking people are affected by this broken system — in turn making construction more expensive and inefficient for society every year. When everyone up and down the chain is on the same page with payments, contractors can focus on actually building, instead of mountains of paperwork. We’re reimagining construction finance to help contractors get paid, grow their business, and build a better future for all of us.

đź•ş The Role

Siteline is looking for a Chief of Staff to partner with its CEO, Gloria Lin.

You are a strategic thinker and operational doer who will be a collaborative partner across all functional areas of the business. You will also be the acting head of Finance, Legal, and other operational areas until permanent leaders are hired.

At times you will be a thought partner, and at times you'll be a "stunt double" for the CEO.

This is an 18 to 24-month tour of duty. After that, you'll be expected to transition to a leadership role within the company.

🎒 Responsibilities

- CEO Priorities - Understand what's really going on in the business, internally and externally. Provide feedback to Gloria on what needs to change, and help make those adjustments. Independently lead areas that she's not focused on but are important for the company.- Finance - As our acting Head of Finance, manage finances across the company, including financial growth models and headcount planning. Manage our external bookkeeper and tax preparer. Work closely with the GTM teams to understand drivers of growth and how they relate to costs.- People & Legal - Research and implement company policies that are thoughtful, and appropriate for our company stage. Manage our existing Operations Manager, and provide day-to-day direction (e.g. office search). Own annual compensation review process. Act as primary point of contact to external legal counsel, working on matters ranging from SaaS contracts to patents.- Operations - By staying in tune with the team, continually tweak our existing meeting and planning cadence. Thoughtfully run and evolve All-Hands, offsites, and other internal company activities. Ensure that we're investing in the right tools & systems for our company stage.- Investor Relations - Partner with Gloria to prepare for and manage board meetings and updates.- Level Up the Team - With your great judgment and leadership skills, you'll provide feedback and step in to support projects as necessary. Act as an extension of Gloria's eyes and ears with every person in the organization. Foster a culture that reflects our team values and encourages great communication and collaboration.- Whatever Needs to be Done - You will not be asked to do things that Gloria would not do herself. At the same time, there will be a large variety of work — some high-level, some mundane, and lots in between. You'll delegate to the Operations Manager as you see fit.

- Strategy / Finance Experience: 5+ years at a top consulting firm, investment bank, private equity firm, and/or Biz Ops at a high-growth startup.- Insatiable curiosity and a desire to grow rapidly as a person and leader- Strong storyteller. Communication is one of your superpowers. You're polished and comfortable in any room.- Natural relationship builder across different personality types, with high EQ- Good coach, ideally with people management experience or natural abilities as manager.- Highly organized with strong attention to detail- Great judgment - Trustworthiness- Comfort with ambiguity- Location: Based in or willing to relocate to San Francisco

- Experience at a high-growth tech startup- Experience within a sales or marketing environment. Good commercial instincts.- Interest or experience in the AEC (Architectural, Engineering, Construction) space- MBA
