We are looking for a Chief of Staff who is passionate about building and optimizing Seismic’s Product & Engineering organization to directly impact our growth, scale and depth. This highly visible role will report to the Chief Product Officer, and in conjunction with the Chief of Staff cohort, will work on a wide range of strategic business projects which impact our entire business as we scale to $500M and beyond. The Chief of Staff cohort will be responsible for execution of our company’s most impactful initiatives.

In this role, you will crystallize, organize, and harmonize the execution of key business initiatives within the Product & Engineering team and the constituents it serves. The reach is primarily, but not limited to, these three critical areas:

What you will be doing:

CPO Proxy

Closely partner with the CPO to ensure a consistent business operating rhythm (strategy, processes, systems, reporting), define fiscal year strategy, drive OKR planning and execution Serve as the execution arm for program management of strategic / special enterprise-wide projects; may span beyond the scope of Product & Engineering, requiring seamless cross-company collaboration Regularly crystallize and promote the Product & Engineering strategic plans to the broader organization to ensure alignment and productivity Assists in facilitating decision-making with the CPO and the Product & Engineering senior leadership team; acts as confidant, sounding board, and advisor to offer sound perspective and guidance Support board deck, exec offsite, or other major artifact preparation individually or as part of CoS cohort

Operational Excellence

Lead the Product & Engineering’s organization OKRs motion alongside with the P&E leadership team; this includes driving the process to refine business strategy, OKRs, budgets and execution plans for the team, how we will measure success against it and report on progress. Drive/oversee key cross-functional projects/initiatives from development through to execution, aligning multiple stakeholders to help drive decisions and achieve goals Support the CPO and leadership team in the preparation of executive & company wide internal communications Plan and facilitate executive meetings/workshops which may include formulating agendas and topics, guiding and facilitating the discussion, bringing together notes and action items and ensuring follow-up as needed Regularly evaluate and apply improvement to the efficiency of business procedures according to organizational objectives; Support the organization in discovering gaps in objectives and priorities across teams and products Act as “eyes and ears” to ensure such initiatives are implemented effectively; Evaluate overall department performance by gathering, analyzing, and interpreting data and metricsBe a culture champion, building strong relationships at all levels of the business in order to identify, surface, and execute on areas of culture and organizational change

Cross-Functional Leader

Partner closely with others in Seismic’s Chief of Staff cohort to develop effective coordination on best practices, C-suite priorities, cross-functional engagements, and board meeting logistics Champion and evangelize the spirit of cross functional collaboration and silo-busting; Build trusted relationships with key stakeholders within the organization, acting as the voice of the CPO as appropriateMeet regularly with colleagues across the business as a conduit for executive feedback; Partner closely with other functions relevant to the team, including Finance, HR, Operations, Marketing, Customer Support, and Sales

What you bring to the team:

10+ years of experience in a Chief of Staff, business planning & operations management, working in/with a Product & Engineering organization plus 10+years of experience with managing complex projects from initiation to completion; PMP certification preferred Understanding of SaaS technologies and ecosystems, operational workflows and architectural infrastructure best practices Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher. MBA may be an advantage, but not required Ability to conduct data-rich analysis and to build consensus around recommendationsExpert communication and presentation skills
