The Role:

The Chief of Staff to the CEO will work closely with the CEO to ensure the operational activities of the company are delivering on the highest priority strategic goals. The Chief of Staff will act as a strategic thought partner, and also act as an open and honest communication channel, connecting the CEO and Leadership Team with the broader organization. This position is based in the SF Bay area and will require a candidate to live in commutable distance to our worksite. Relocation assistance provided.

Key Responsibilities:

- Execute the CEO’s vision by ensuring messages from the CEO are communicated throughout the organization and follow-through is occurring- Lead the process of setting strategic goals and priorities, quarterly and annually. Work closely with the Finance & Strategic Operations team to align strategy with financial forecasts and internal communication- Run Leadership Team meetings and offsites, preparing agendas and ensuring highest value topics are covered- Use influence in guiding teams to deliver on the strategic priorities. Track deliverables and measurables at the Leadership Team level- Surface issues occurring that are causing misalignment or preventing work from proceeding, provide recommendations, and follow through to execution where required- Act as an integrator, connecting activities across teams that would otherwise lack a cross-functional lens- Serve as a thought partner to the CEO on strategy and policies. Be an honest advisor when the CEO needs a wide-ranging view that is free from an organizational agenda- Speak with the voice of the CEO when attending meetings on her behalf- Design a support team (within the Office of the CEO as well as outside of it) that will deliver on the needs of the CEO and enable the company to operate smoothly and move forward quickly- Manage the Executive Assistant, who handles the CEO’s day-to-day calendaring and event planning needs- Lead the design and implementation of processes and systems to improve the company’s organizational effectiveness and bring better organization and transparency to ad hoc activities- Lead other strategic initiatives, as needed

Qualifications:

- Degree in Business related field or relevant work experience- 8+ years of professional experience across strategy, project management, finance, consulting, and/or other business-related roles- Experience in strategic planning and execution- Demonstrated track record in improving organizational effectiveness and delivering process improvements in prior roles- Exceptional communication skills, verbal and written

Skills & Qualities:

- Strong command of presentation and spreadsheet software packages (e.g., Google Suite and/or Microsoft Office products)- Versatile, with a willingness to dive deep when the situation calls for it- An expert at breaking down barriers to get teams to where they need to go- Honest (unafraid to voice viewpoint) and tenacious, but able to support decisions if they go in a different direction- Low-ego. Considers the holistic needs of the company, without an agenda- Highest level of integrity, with instinctual sensitivity toward issues that require diplomacy
