About The Role

We are seeking a Chief of Staff to support the Office of the CISO (Chief Information Security Officer). The candidate will be responsible for supporting internal and external communications, recruiting and diversity programs, strategy and budget cycles, monthly and quarterly operational reviews, Board of Directors content creation and other special projects as needs emerge.

What You'll Do

  • Maintain the governance (Rhythm of the Business) structure across the organization (Steering Committees, Monthly Tech Reviews, Board Reviews, Leadership Offsites, All Hands, Operational Reviews)
  • Create and maintain the strategy document to provide an overview of the services we provide globally
  • Work closely with EngSec leadership team and managers to keep a pulse on the organizational needs (support roundtables)
  • Create external and internal communications plan for the group: inventory existing newsletters and create an improved plan for information sharing
  • Help with LinkedIn postings / Blog postings to create positive momentum for the function
  • Work closely with finance on all budgeting activities to ensure timely submissions in line with company policies and controls
  • Coordination of key vendor quarterly business reviews
  • Support recruiting activities (interviewing) with special focus on diversity

Basic Qualifications

  • 10-15 years minimum experience in security, risk, compliance, communications, operations, legal, product, engineering, program management or strategy type roles.
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Excellent communication skills - both written (decks, papers) and verbal
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, proficient with Excel, Google Sheets, Dashboards
  • Demonstrated the ability to tackle operational problems through data-driven root-cause analysis
  • Comfortable working in a fast paced, highly sensitive environment
  • Comfortable with ambiguity; the ability to structure ideas into actionable plans
  • Experience in a high-growth environment

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with exceptional emotional intelligence.
  • Ability to influence and motivate people across a variety of job functions through your relationships.Superior organizational skills with the ability to juggle many tasks without losing sight of the highest priority items.
  • Strong bias towards action. You drive end-to-end results and are always thinking ahead.
  • Attention to detail and you are constantly looking for ways to tweak and optimize for better results.

Offices continue to be central to collaboration and Uber’s cultural identity. Unless formally approved to work fully remotely, Uber expects employees to spend at least half of their work time in their assigned office. For certain roles, such as those based at green-light hubs, employees are expected to be in-office for 100% of their time. For New York, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is $220,000 per year - $244,000 per year. For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is $220,000 per year - $244,000 per year. For Seattle, WA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is $220,000 per year - $244,000 per year. For Sunnyvale, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is $220,000 per year - $244,000 per year. For all US locations, you will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
