Remote, full-time

To apply for this position, please reach out to people@withours.com with “Chief of Staff / Business Ops” in the subject line and a brief blurb telling us about the latest thing you’ve built or learned how to do that you find interesting, along with your resume. We’re excited to get to know you!

About OURS:

OURS is a venture-backed startup redefining what it means to go to couples counseling, making proactive relationship health more accessible and modern for millennial couples. We’ve built & iterated with thousands of couples who describe OURS as a life-changing experience and we are now at an exciting phase as we prepare to come out of stealth mode and officially launch into the world.

At OURS, we’re working on creating a world where relationships are happier, healthier, and longer-lasting. We’re innovating by creating real-time, multiplayer, interactive applications that help couples become closer in their relationship through content driven experiences.

About this role:

As Chief of Staff / Business Ops, you’ll work closely with the company’s founders and own inner operations, prioritization, metrics, strategic analysis and special projects as OURS grows. You’ll be the go to for how things work at OURS and work cross-functionally with our Guides, content, product and customer love teams.

We are looking for someone who is a rising star in their job and wants to take the exciting leap to the startup tech and entrepreneurial world. This is an ideal role for someone who wants to be part of building an innovative, consumer-first company from the ground up and gain deep and fast-paced leadership experience across all parts of the business. There will be significant opportunity to transition into even more senior roles as the company grows rapidly.

What you’ll do:

Truly no day will be the same and you’ll work across the entire company to help it grow. While the role is largely a generalist role, you will be able to lean into areas where you gravitate towards and develop more responsibilities there. In the beginning, you’ll:

  • Work closely with the founders to strategize and prioritize
  • Own reporting, analysis, metrics, KPIs and modeling across the entire business, including financial, product, and marketing; build and manage financial models and budgets
  • Track data, identify trends and draw insights from metrics to keep the team informed and drive strategic decisions
  • Oversee operational procedures to bring OURS to the next level: document how processes work, implement improvements, build up our how-to library for all areas of the business, ensuring that everything we do is high quality and streamlined and find and turn inefficiencies into opportunities to excel
  • Work on ad-hoc support and longer-term special projects from start to finish that move the business forward. Examples include conducting customer research, mapping out longer-term go-to-market plays and identifying opportunities for new content
  • Welcome new teammates and oversee their onboarding process
  • Plan and run team meetings & off-sites and codify learnings
  • Create and manage the employee handbook and internal resources
  • Create pitch decks and partnership decks, board materials and investor updates
  • Coordinate with and manage projects with contractors, lawyers, accountants, payroll, insurance and taxes

The ideal candidate is/has:

  • 3+ years of experience as a rising star at a top investment bank, private equity fund, consulting firm or similar foundational career
  • Excited to integrate into all parts of an early stage, consumer-first company and immerse yourself in the startup world
  • Adept at prioritizing and a holistic thinker, eager to understand how every aspect of the business works together.
  • An execution-oriented doer who thrives in the nitty gritty as well as a high-level, strategic and forward-looking thinker who’s building for long-term success
  • A craving for leadership and management across the company
  • An ownership mindset with incredibly high standards for the big stuff as much as the small stuff
  • Extraordinary attention to detail with extreme dedication to the ‘last mile’ of work
  • An excellent, direct and proactive communicator
  • A fast and voraciously curious learner who takes pride in being resourceful and figuring it out independently, but knows when to and doesn’t shy away from asking for help
  • Obsessed with organization and process-itizing workflows. You may be the kind of person who learned about macros and applied them to all of your documents even though they weren’t necessary
  • A knack for future-proofing; that is, identifying and building to address potential future issues before they arise
  • Motivated by and passionate about making a long-term difference in the world, for both individual couples as well as society as a whole through the relationship health movement. A deep care for relationships and a desire to challenge stigma around mental, emotional and relationship health

Why you’ll love working with OURS:

  • We are a small but mighty and growing team that is hyper passionate and obsessed with what we’re building together and making real impact on people’s daily lives. We view this as a sacred responsibility
  • We’re a venture-backed, first mover in the couples therapy space and are reinventing how the industry works
  • We operate in a fast-paced, innovative environment that challenges the status quo to own the societal conversation around relationship health and deliver an excellent and life-changing experience
  • You’ll be employee #8 and a core part of the early OURS team, assuming an enormous amount of responsibility and pride
  • We are highly collaborative, in it together and constantly learning from each other and challenging each other to do our best work
  • We are a remote and flexible team. What matters to us is output and impact, and we believe in creating an environment where every single person on our team can be their best selves both at and outside of work
  • We have a deep amount of love and respect for everyone on our team and truly love and enjoy working together
