**Company Description: **Thayer Street Partners is a private equity firm that invests in middle market companies in the business services, financial services, and real estate services sectors. We provide growth capital to help scale businesses that are tech-enabled or can leverage technology to grow. Occasionally, the firm incubates asset aggregation platforms from scratch. Founded and led by a Goldman Sachs Special Situations Group alum, our team has made over 30 investments to date. As of June 2022, the firm has over $700M in regulatory assets under management across 2 co-mingled funds and 30+ SPVs.

**Job Description: **The Chief of Staff / Business Operations Manager will play a critical role in supporting the Founder & CEO in ensuring accountability, execution, and delivery of key objectives across the firm. This is a unique position for someone with a passion for organization, project management, and a strong desire to build, improve, and maintain operational processes to help scale a business. The core mission of this role will be to provide leverage to the Founder & CEO in project managing the team across various workstreams including deal sourcing and execution, asset management of portfolio companies, fund operations, and other internal business operations.  In this role, your attention to detail and focus on developing repeatable, scalable processes will help ensure the business has the foundation needed for continued growth.

This role reports directly to the Founder & CEO, and will work closely with the investment team, and collaborate with business development, investor relations, and finance teams.

What You’ll Do:

  • Serve as an extension of the CEO in project managing day-to-day operations of the business
  • Develop institutional-quality business processes that are repeatable and scalable
    1. Develop, improve, and maintain internal project management systems to support the investment team’s workstreams (e.g. deal sourcing, underwriting, due diligence, closing)
    2. Create and implement detailed project plans and serve as the traffic controller across all operational and administrative activities for the team
  • Coordinate and support team’s execution of time-sensitive, high intensity projects, such as deal-closings and later-stage due diligence of potential new investments
  • Maintain a pulse on status/progress of all key workstreams across the organization
  • Play an active role in portfolio enhancement and asset management initiatives
    1. Support execution of key strategic projects for our portfolio companies (e.g., strategic acquisitions, sales team expansions, refinancing processes, C-suite hires, etc.)
    2. Track investment team’s progress on key deliverables for our portfolio companies
  • Collaborate with CEO to drive internal operations such as staff communications, optimizing and managing external vendor relationships, etc.
  • Support CEO and Investor Relations in maintaining updated marketing materials as needed

What We’re Looking For:

  • Minimum 3-4+ years of relevant professional experience (in a project management or operations-oriented role)
    • Candidates may come from management or due diligence consulting, fintech, accounting/audit, investment banking, or other project-based professional services
  • Demonstrated experience and ability to succeed in intensive and high-performing professional environments
  • Unrivaled organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Extremely process-driven approach to project management and ability to juggle multiple initiatives in a rapidly changing environment
  • Familiarity with project management tools such as Asana, Monday, Trello, etc. (team currently uses Microsoft Suite and Smartsheets)
  • Significant experience working in cross-functional teams
  • Exceptionally results-oriented and natural desire to see tasks to completion
  • Strong interpersonal skills; thrives in team-based environments
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong ethical standards, trustworthiness, and ability to be trusted with highly confidential information
  • BA/BS from an accredited university
