Your Mission

The Chief of Staff to the Head of Blizzard Entertainment will be a trusted advisor to the Head of Blizzard Entertainment and will play a critical role in bringing the Executive Leadership team of stakeholders together across various functions, to help accelerate progress, and to ensure the Executive Leadership team runs a rigorous and disciplined business. In this role, you will enable the Executive Leadership team to focus on the largest strategic initiatives by assuming the day-to-day responsibilities for the organizational and operational effectiveness of the team.

As the Chief of Staff, you will own the rhythm of business and will partner with the Head of Blizzard Entertainment and the Executive Leadership team to influence our culture, define our people's investments, and help define strategic initiatives. Maximize Effectiveness

  • Serve as a sounding board to the Head of Blizzard Entertainment to provide an objective, independent perspective on ideas and issues
  • Develop, manage, and optimize the Executive Leadership team rhythm of business by developing ideal operating cadence to maximize organizational communication, planning, and decision-making
  • Draft and distributes Head of Blizzard Entertainment presentations, documents, and communications, as appropriate
  • Partner with HR to address overall organizational approach and design, staffing needs, issues, or planning within the organization
  • Attend meetings, provide direction, and address inquiries or issues on behalf of the Head of Blizzard Entertainment as his proxy
  • Manage the responsibilities and day-to-day activities of the Executive Assistant of the Head of Blizzard Entertainment, and provide coaching and mentoring as needed

Drive Strategic Initiatives

  • Successfully lead and execute key initiatives end-to-end including discovery, design, delivery, and adoption
  • Support the Executive Leadership team in developing the Long-Range Plan, including the overall strategic roadmap and business performance objectives
  • Partner with the HR, DE&I (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion), Head of Culture, and Communications teams to help build our organizational culture
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with executives, senior leaders, and stakeholders to achieve project objectives and deliverables

Support Executive Leadership Team Decision-making and Meetings

  • Plan and develop agendas and presentation materials for key meetings
  • Document and communicate decisions and action items from meetings
  • Ensure follow-up and closure of action items
  • Share information and learnings across teams

Year 1 Success

  • Establish a leadership and business unit rhythm of business
  • Execute on a decision-making framework for leadership
  • Put in place a motivating 5-year vision for the business unit
  • Serve as an ambassador for our employees, connecting with 4000+ people across many teams to understand our opportunities
  • Establish great relationships with leadership across the BU and become a problem solver for teams

Player Profile

This leader must possess unquestionable character and absolute integrity. S/he will be a proven leader with a blend of superior strategic, operational, program/project management, and leadership skills. Additionally, s/he should possess exceptional attention to detail, strong initiative, an influencer who has excelled in matrix and/or consulting environments, and critical thinking skills.

Specific Requirements Include

  • Minimum of 10 years of proven experience leading large-scale, cross-organizational, complex enterprise programs or projects utilizing internal and vendor resources
  • Experience in effectively interacting with executives and senior leaders
  • Experience of building effective business processes for diverse teams
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communications skills
  • Comfortable presenting and communicating to large groups and across all levels of the organization in an effective, situationally appropriate, clear, and high-quality manner
  • Capable of strong individual contribution and influence across non-direct reporting teams
  • Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders throughout the organization
  • Ability and emotional maturity to work in a productive and cooperative way with a variety of people ranging from CVPs to individual contributors and support staff
  • Ability to translate ideas into clear, high impact communications
  • Ability to maintain good judgment in fast-paced, high-stress environments
  • Ability to excel in an ambiguous environment, orchestrating strategic and complex business activity
  • Ability to work independently and deliver results with little supervision; ability to prioritize tasks across multiple projects
  • Detail-oriented; Results-oriented; Problem solver
  • Ability to travel to support the Head of Blizzard Entertainment, as needed
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related discipline or prior work experience in one or more of these disciplines


  • Prior experience reporting directly to a C-level executive
  • Big 4 management consulting experience
  • Master’s Degree in Business Administration or a related discipline
  • Hands-on, entrepreneurial style with a strong bias for action and results; thrives in unstructured environments with a focus on innovation; collaborative and without ego
