Otter is seeking a mission-driven self-starter who is excited to be driving company operations while empowering the CEO to work better, faster, and more thoughtfully. The Chief of Staff/Operations Manager is responsible for designing and implementing processes that facilitate information sharing within the organization. The Chief of Staff/Operations Manager is also responsible for creating the infrastructure that empowers the Otter team to follow through on our operating principles: do hard things, do good things, and do things with care. Successful candidates will be able to thrive in daily conversations with other Otter team members and ensure everyone on the Otter team feels heard.

The Chief of Staff/Operations Manager will be responsible for creating Otter's operations playbook together with the rest of the Otter team, designing excellent operations infrastructure that supports team and company growth, and making strategic recommendations that support improvements in company operations. As Chief of Staff/Operations Manager, you'll also collaborate closely with the Chief Executive Officer to operationalize organizational priorities, especially those involving fundraising, growth strategy, and company culture.

As Chief of Staff/Operations Manager, you'll be:

  • Working directly with the CEO to develop, implement, and drive cross-functional operations initiatives that create structure and facilitate internal and external progress
  • Incubating new ideas for processes that could lead to smoother operations
  • Independently driving the implementation of new initiatives within the organization
  • Managing recruiting processes to identify strong candidates for the Otter team
  • Collaborating with other team leads to build infrastructure to define, track, and analyze success metrics
  • Working closely with other leaders across the company to champion continuous operational improvements that build a culture of learning and growth within the organization
  • Coordinating finance, legal, and insurance related activities
