Chief of Staff, Development

The Chief of Staff, Development will work with our Head of Fundraising/Development to oversee a staff of 25+. You’ll be the group’s conductor, helping keep the ‘trains’ running on time across multiple teams with your impeccable organizational, systems creation, and project management skills. Prior background in management is required with proven experience in successfully jumping from project to project in any given day to progress things forward. Having Chief-of-Staff experience is more important to us than nonprofit experience, but an ideal candidate will have both at a fast-growing organization. We really need a true problem solver who can think steps ahead on various initiatives simultaneously.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversee weekly/monthly/quarterly/annual reporting required for both internal and external purposesWork with data team to ensure accurate, timely data ingestion of donor funds and strategize on best wealth screening/donor distribution strategies for the fundraising teamCraft proposals and presentations as needed in coordination with writers and foundation directorsManage mass-engagement donor acquisition execution and optimization Manage internal workflows for successful event execution, including timeline oversight and day-of coordinationOversee our direct mail cadence, vendor relationship and project management messaging/delivery cadenceStaying on top of fundraising trends and the nonprofit community
Successful candidates will possess:
5+ years experience in either Chief-of-Staff type roles, and/or non-profit fundraising with management experienceImpeccable organizational/project management skillsAbility to think through 2nd- and 3rd-order effects when creating processes and systemsTrue problem-solver who has the entrepreneurial itch to ‘build’Experience with fundraising software CRMs preferableExcellent verbal and written communication skillsSelf-Starter, highly ethical and well versed in our content, presenters, worldviewTime management and flexibility with job dutiesFamiliarity with digital ecosystem/social media channels

Salary Range: The salary target for this role is $125,000 - $175,000. Final offer amounts depend on multiple factors including candidate experience and expertise, and most recent market data. This position is eligible for an annual bonus based on personal and company performance, in addition to our robust benefits package.
