We are looking for a new Chief of Staff for our overall Windows community and to partner with the CVP of Windows Devices and App Experiences (DAX).

The Windows Devices & App Experiences (DAX) team is part of the Windows + Devices (W+D) organization and is focused on building platforms and products that deliver magical experiences across Microsoft, empowering every person and organization to achieve more. As a member of the Windows and DAX leadership teams, the Chief of Staff will report to the Corporate Vice President (CVP) of DAX and drive three areas of focus: cross-company Windows rhythms and communications; DAX org priorities and business management; and ad-hoc planning and program management projects on behalf of the CVP of DAX. This position is also a people management position, with two direct reports.

We have bold ambitions for our Windows business over the coming years, and this position is critical to driving those ambitions forward across Microsoft.


Executive strategy & leadership team enablement:

  • Partner with leadership team to drive Windows strategy, priorities, and operations.
  • Drive strategic thought leadership by managing the ROB, driving workbacks, and taking the pen where needed to drive executive deliverables.
  • Lead and manage the organization’s Leadership Team (LT) and staff meetings focused on clear outcomes.
  • Develop and cultivate cross organizational stakeholder relationships to amplify alignment with critical internal partners,
  • Ensure that the CVP’s time and focus is appropriately prioritized, partnering with the Executive Business Administrator.

People Enablement:

  • Drive the DAX organizational health & employee engagement strategy and programs.
  • Create a diverse and inclusive culture focused on increasing diverse representation, retention, and improving inclusion.
  • Drive a robust calendar of internal & customer communications including team touchpoints, town halls/all hands, skip level, customer, and partner engagements.
  • Partner with recruitment to meet hiring requirements and elevate staffing conversations with the LT.

Business Strategy & Planning

  • Lead ad-hoc planning and program management projects on behalf of the CVP of DAX, as appropriate.
  • Track progress and drive completion of actions across business in alignment with leadership commitments.
  • Ensure budget, resourcing, and LT capacity are aligned to top business priorities.
  • Develop and drive DAX annual priority planning process.


Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of professional experience in program / project management, management consulting, finance, marketing, or business management.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of people management experience a plus.
  • Resiliency, independence, and ability to navigate through ambiguous challenges.
  • Strong written skills and ability to be effective in communications based on relevant audiences internally and externally.
  • Ability to create effective relationships, influence, and collaborate internally and externally at all organizational levels.
  • Detail-oriented with analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Strong business acumen & curiosity, including skill in understanding the industry, competition, and growth opportunities.
