Lish is a fast growing Seattle startup that creates high quality and innovative dining experiences for office workers. We partner with independent chefs, restaurant owners, and food truck purveyors who are passionate about crafting meals. Each chef tells their unique story through their food, bringing a variety of cuisines and styles to our rotating menu. Lish creates weekly meal plans for our clients and provides exceptional meals designed for each client in a seamless manner.

About the Job

The Chief of Staff is a critical role and unique opportunity for someone who is interested in shaping the trajectory of a growing startup. As folks return to office and businesses restart their meal programs, Lish is poised to meet their needs and grow alongside our clients. The Chief of Staff role will have a significant impact on the business from both a strategic and operational perspective. This position is full-time at our office in Seattle and reports to our COO.

Key Responsibilities

Anticipate the needs of the organization and determine how best to contributePerform each role and guide team members to continuously experiment and improveHelp onboard key company hires, ensuring they have the context and support needed to successful ramp up and perform their dutiesSupport each team member’s individual goals and pursuitsUnderstand relative business value and direct resources towards highest impact effortsPartner with management team to advance strategic prioritiesBuild business and operational best practices, and improve executionTeach and mentor our team using continuous improvement methodsAnalyze opportunities, prove concepts, develop operational plans, and translate your recommendations into resultsFormulate and evaluate organizational OKRs and provide transparent visibilityProvide data driven insights to guide prioritiesProactively identify and troubleshoot issues

Potential projects:

Analyze Catering Lead recruitment and retention to identify changes we can make to improve shift scheduling to ensure subscription orders are covered and team members needs are metEvaluate each of our third-party delivery partners to establish strengths and weaknesses to help align capabilities to client needs. Trial and add new partners as necessary.Shore up Delivery Support to ensure all stakeholders (clients, chef partners, catering leads, etc) are well supported in their roles and receive timely and accurate communications.Establish a data-driven feedback loop for Lish’s marketing practice to help drive qualified leads to Account ExecutivesReimagine chef relations to improve access to information and team members (real-time versus asynchronous)Design a program for implementing 24-hour notice online ordering to help increase client satisfaction and order volumes

About You

The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a track record of driving projects to completion. They are highly organized and ready to hit the ground running by establishing themselves as a thought leader and understanding our business, clients, and the competitive landscape. The candidate has a positive disposition and is unafraid to take on new challenges, receive and action feedback and push themselves to help ensure the team’s success.

You are an executor who is results-driven and will do what it takes to help support our team to grow the business, while also being able to step back and see the big picture. You thrive in a fast paced environment and love to continuously improve processes to operate efficiently. You have a data-driven approach to decision making and are focused on metrics that matter.


3+ years of experience in startups, fast-growing companies, or management consultingComfortable traversing an organization and engaging with staff at all levelsThinks and acts like an ownerDemonstrated ability to perform analysis and deliver key insightsQuick study who is constantly learningFluency in data analytics using Google Sheets or ExcelExcellent written and verbal communication skills4-year college degree from an accredited college (MBA is a plus)Startup experience is a plusExperience in restaurant and food community is a plus (Example experience working with restaurant owners, chefs, managers or caterers)

Job Type: Full-timePay: $70,000 - $100,000 per year (plus equity)
