Kift is looking for a motivated, organized, and passionate Chief of Staff to drive forward all aspects of our business, oversee effective execution of our go-to-market strategy, and ensure a successful public launch in 2022. Working closely with the CEO, you will be responsible for streamlining strategic initiatives, overseeing program management, and coordinating projects across different teams and workstreams within the company. The ideal candidate will have proven experience at a senior level in a business development, operations, or strategy role, driving complex cross-departmental initiatives; experience scaling a startup and/or launching a new product is a plus. This position will be remote; West Coast-based candidates are preferred. Some travel to Kift locations will be required.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a thought partner to the CEO on all aspects of business strategy; drive short-, medium-, and long-term business planning processes
  • Ensure day to day objectives of the business and CEO are being met
  • Oversee strategic initiatives and go-to-market strategy from development through successful execution, in close collaboration with the CEO
  • Coordinate and communicate between teams and workstreams; troubleshoot issues, identify gaps and inefficiencies, and drive cross-team collaboration
  • Build and scale core internal systems and processes to support sustainable business development and team growth; work to refine and optimize org structure and plug knowledge/skills gaps
  • Lead talent development, recruiting, and hiring efforts to build and retain an all-star team
  • Oversee team operations including training and development initiatives, team offsites, and other culture-building activities
  • Serve as sounding board, advisor, and advocate for all staff; keep a pulse on team well-being; troubleshoot, mitigate, and resolve personnel issues; escalate concerns to the CEO as needed
  • Define company KPIs, measure and monitor progress, and work to improve outcomes in close collaboration with the CEO
  • Support external thought leadership and brand-building activities

You should apply if...

  • You have 5-7+ years of experience in a business leadership or strategy role, with proven expertise organizing and directing complex projects and leading multi-disciplinary teams
  • You are an excellent communicator in written and verbal form, to internal and external audiences
  • You are a versatile and adaptable problem-solver, able to juggle multiple types of projects simultaneously and keep a cool head under pressure
  • You have experience planning and executing major strategic initiatives from start to finish
  • You’re comfortable working with technical and non-technical teams; if you don’t have a technical background, you’re conversant in technology and can ask the right questions to get the information you need to drive things forward
  • You are detail-oriented and operations-minded, with a knack for streamlining and optimizing systems and processes
  • You are excited to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment, where there is no “typical” day
  • Experience with vanlife, co-living, or community living is a plus
