Role: Chief of Staff, Office of the Founder



SGFF works to build a more equal and resilient world. SGFF brings people together to support each other through three key initiatives: LeanIn.Org, OptionB.Org, and the Dave Goldberg Scholarship Program.


Our friends at SGFF are seeking a Chief of Staff, Office of the Founder to join the team to support their Founder, Sheryl Sandberg, and the Foundation team. This person will manage preparation for a variety of events, build and implement cross-functional processes, and manage strategic initiatives for the organization, including the Dave Goldberg Scholarship Program.


  • Lead special strategic projects for the Foundation, the largest being the Dave Goldberg Scholarship Program;
  • Manage the Founder’s personal giving priorities, including researching high-impact opportunities and owning relationships with strategic giving partners;
  • Drive content creation and briefs for key external meetings/initiatives;
  • Develop a strategy to best leverage the Founder's time on key external engagements;
  • Prioritize, plan, and execute global travel engagements;
  • Support message development for internal and external engagements; and
  • Interface and coordinate regularly with team leads to ensure cross-functional alignment of deliverables.

  • You’re an adept project manager, seamlessly shifting between strategic counsel and smaller daily tasks–and enthusiastic about both!
  • You are a strong written and verbal communicator.
  • You’re a team player excited by the idea of working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
  • You’re passionate about the missions of Lean In, Option B, and the Dave Goldberg Scholarship Program.

  • You have 5+ years’ work experience in consulting or project management. Bonus if you’ve got communications, policy, and/or research experience.
  • You’ve drafted both short- and long-form communications–and writing excites you.
  • You take a thoughtful, proactive approach to problem-solving and have a knack for proactively anticipating needs and problems before they arise.
  • You’re able and willing to juggle multiple tasks at once and shift priorities as needed.
  • You can work effectively with people at all levels–both inside SGFF and with external partners–and have worked directly with senior executives.
  • You’re driven to learn, follow through, and improve on SGFF processes to set teams up for success.
  • You're deeply committed to diversity, equity and inclusion.
  • You're available to consistently work PDT hours.
