Job Description

The Chief of Staff reports into and supports the Senior Vice President and General Counsel. As a member of the leadership team for the legal and compliance functions, the Chief of Staff provides support on a variety of strategic, operational, and organizational matters and works closely with executives on that team to ensure alignment with strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate as a member of the leadership team (LT), work closely with the General Counsel and other members of the LCLT to support the strategic direction for the organization and ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Track and drive forward key priorities and initiatives across the organization, working closely with the LT.
  • Lead and/or manage special projects and high-profile initiatives, as appropriate.
  • Act as a liaison between the General Counsel and other company senior executives and their leadership teams, to ensure alignment and coordination on cross-functional initiatives.
  • Support the General Counsel in defining and developing high-impact executive communications, including presentations for the Operating Committee, Executive Committee and Board meetings, as well as Legal & Compliance Town Hall meetings and other internal audiences.
  • Plan and manage weekly LCLT meetings, ensuring appropriate timing and prioritization of key topics and decisions; tracking and following up on key actions.
  • Continuously look for optimizing governance and way of working to bring more value & efficiency
  • Work closely with finance business partners and the department operations team to manage and track the department budget
  • Act as a thought partner in all aspects of the General Counsel’s role to ensure responsibilities and deadlines are met proactively and smoothly

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong collaboration skills, with an ability to influence multiple stakeholders. Builds mutual trust, respect and cooperation among team members
  • Proven project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities; adapt to new projects rapidly and effectively
  • Strategic thinker with a proven track record of driving for implementation
  • Demonstrated analytical and information technology skills
  • Self-motivated; Acts independently and prioritizes appropriately; Embraces unexpected changes or challenges and drives to improved solutions
  • Navigates organizational complexities, recommends solutions, and promotes collaboration across functions
  • Demonstrates impeccable judgment in highly sensitive matters
