(MTSI) is seeking a Chief of Staff who will serve a key strategic role in overseeing daily operations and activities supporting a Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense (DASD)-level organization within the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering (OUSD(R&E)) located in Arlington, VA.

Responsibilities
As the Chief of Staff you will serve a key strategic role in overseeing daily operations and activities supporting a Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense (DASD)-level organization within the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering (OUSD(R&E)). The mission of the organization is to accelerate the development and integration of advanced technologies to rapidly deliver new warfighting capabilities. As the Chief of Staff, you will work with the leadership team to ensure the seamless execution of our mission and strategic initiatives. You will work in a mission-driven, complex, fast-paced environment where quick thinking and decisive execution are essential to success. Work location is on site at the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia.
Primary Responsibilities Are
Operational Oversight: Facilitate the execution of daily tasks and projects across a diverse technical team.Process Improvement: Streamline and optimize internal processes to enhance efficiency of operational and administrative functions.Strategic Planning: Contribute to the development and execution of the organization's strategic plan, ensuring alignment with the mission, goals, and priorities.Cross-functional Collaboration: Foster effective communication and collaboration across different offices and teams to achieve common objectives.Project Management: Lead and support special projects and initiatives, providing guidance and support to ensure successful outcomes.Performance Metrics: Develop, track, and report key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the organization's progress and success.Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with external partners, stakeholders, and senior leaders to strengthen relationships and support the organization's growth.Executive Support: Provide high-level support to the DASD, including research and gathering of information, preparing briefings and reports, and facilitating decision-making processes.Change Management: Drive change initiatives to enhance the organization's ability to adapt and respond to evolving needs.
Qualifications
Required Experience:
Experience as a Chief of Staff or similar role coordinating and integrating activities supporting Senior Executives, General Officers, Flag Officers, Chief Executive Officers, or equivalent organizational leaders.Executive presence with highly effective interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships at all levels.Exceptional communications skills including the ability to convey complex issues clearly.Ability to adapt to changing priorities and effectively maintain composure under pressure.Strong project management and problem-solving skills.A strategic thinker with the ability to translate vision into action.Demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional teams and projects.Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making skills.A proactive and solution-oriented mindset, able to take initiative and accomplish work independently with minimal guidance.Must be highly organized with meticulous attention to detail.
Desired Experience
15 years of professional experience.OSD, Joint Staff, Service Staff, or other Pentagon staff experience.Knowledge of the OUSD(R&E) organizations, roles, and responsibilities.Familiarity with the DoD Correspondence and Task Management System (CATMS), Joint Staff Action Process (JSAP), and/or Task Management Tool (TMT).Familiarity with DoD 5110.4-M, “Manual for Written Material” including DoD business rules for preparing Read Ahead (RAH) materials, Action Memos, and Info Memos.
Education Requirement
Bachelor’s degree in a business, management, or technical field.
Clearance Requirements
Active TOP SECRET clearance with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmentalized Information (SCI).U.S. Citizenship is required for this position.
