We're looking for a mission-driven Chief of Staff to help lead Brigit through its next growth phase. Reporting to the CEO, you'll play a critical role in helping to drive the decision making process across our business and help us scale through our next stage of hypergrowth.
What You'll Be Doing
Working with both the CEO and COO, along with the rest of the leadership team, the CoS plays a strategic and execution role that will help drive the decision making process across our business and help us scale through our next stage of hypergrowth.
The role primarily includes analysis and research to help drive prioritization of initiatives, lead strategic plans and work with the CEO and COO to define objectives across the organization. This role is a thought partner to the CEO, playing a key role in how we make critical decisions as well as executing on projects on behalf of leadership.
In this role you will also have the opportunity to interface with investors and partners. The Chief of Staff will leave an indelible mark on the Company and its operating culture, helping set the standard for strategy formation and organization as we grow. You will be an extension of the executive team, specializing in planning and execution. You’ll have an up-to-the-minute pulse on each function of the business, able to recall specific details at a moment's notice in order to keep the team aligned on our quarterly objectives and key results.
Your comprehensive knowledge of the business and its people will transform you into a trusted internal expert, able to guide and assist any member of the team. - ResponsibilitiesAct as a swiss army knife and force multiplier, helping the CEO execute the Company’s priorities on a given day or week while working on medium term special projects and initiatives
- Manage multiple projects at once that are cross-functional or are entirely novel and drive those projects to completion without fail
- Build decks in Google Slides or PowerPoint on a large scope of topics such as board decks, investment decks, and executive presentations along with other high-value collateral
- Draft emails on complex topics for many different audiences both internal and external while executing on those underlying initiatives
- Support the CEO in communicating overall business strategy and goals to each function, while helping set these goals at the beginning of every quarter
- Organize and coordinate cross-functional team projects, helping prioritize resources and bandwidth constantly
- Collaborate with the CEO and leadership team on strategic priorities e.g. budgets, Company OKR creation and alignment, and additional one-off strategic/operational projects
- Identify and resolve issues on behalf of the executive team, maintaining a pulse on each business unit and ensuring teams are constantly aligned on priorities
- Help the entire Company work together more effectively through better process and documentation
About you:
- You have the ability to work effectively at all levels of an organization and build strong relationships with team members, managers, and senior executives to drive successful completion of the work
- You are organized and systematic in your approach to managing multiple deliverables, and relentless in getting over the finish line
- You enjoy working on multiple projects at once and are comfortable being put in new situations doing work that ranges from in the weeds to high level strategy
- You bring a broad mix of generalist ‘hard’ skills (e.g., financial modeling & analysis, story boarding & presentation building) and soft skills (e.g., EQ, first principles thinking, composure) to all interactions
- You are a clear and articulate communicator and able to process and distill information; your oral and written communication is concise and structured
- You are comfortable with change and ambiguity and thrive in a dynamic environment
- You are a critical thinker, who invests the time to understand the full complexity of a problem and adopt a structured approach in how you tackle it
- You love being challenged and learning beyond your job “title”
- You are a self-starter who thrives in fast paced, hyper growth environments
Experience & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, MBA is an asset
- 7+ years experience across startups, quantitative analysis, investment banking, financial services, consulting, or other quant/data-driven related fields
- 2+ of those years in a Chief of Staff role at a start-up (preferably in fintech)
- Proven experience developing & maintaining relationships with multiple stakeholders, and senior executives
- Proficient with financial modeling and data analysis
- Experience in a fast paced environment
- This role will require you work onsite at our NYC office Monday - Friday
The anticipated annual base salary for this position is $150,000 - $190,000. This range does not include any other compensation components or other benefits for which an individual may be eligible. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
