Who you are
You have led evidence-based strategic decision making. You are a humble analyst who realizes that trial and failure is the primary catalyst for growth. You understand what’s required for a balanced partnership and sharing of ideas, rooted in concise, productive and effective communication between a Finance organization as well as the operational leaders that you support. You understand the modern data stack and have an interest in building scalable tools and integrations for both a Finance organization and that of your business partners.
You are a truth-seeking data-hungry problem owner who builds a culture of holistic prioritization and optimization among an endless list of potential projects. You operate with a constant sense of optimism and danger - optimism that we can win and danger that a competitor might find the answer before you.
You have 7+ years of progressive relevant experience in analytical, consulting, technology, startup or strategy roles. Perhaps you have spent time within FP&A or optimized operational team budgets & spend for a DTC, eCommerce or advertising model business. You have a strong understanding of KPIs for sales and account labor efficiency, supply chain demand planning, last-mile logistics and customer service center workforce optimization. You possess ruthless prioritization standards within a framework of limited technical resources. You always think “partnership” and “team” first, bringing a holistic view of business strategy, processes and financial objectives.
What the role is
The Finance team manages Drizly’s budget of revenue and expenses as well as supports strategic growth and operational investments. We use our uniquely positioned purview of “the numbers” to spot growth trends and opportunities to build leverage together with our operating partners and provide strategic guidance on achieving both short-term and multi-year visions. The Business Operations & Finance Manager - Operations will serve as a key business partner to our Retail Operations teams - Retail Sales, Onboarding, Account Management and Customer Experience.
In this role you will:
- Be deeply embedded with the senior leadership of our Ops teams across their full spectrum of responsibilities, owning their end-to-end financial planning and managing their full P&L- Manage the monthly, quarterly and annual FP&A processes with systematic variance analysis, forecasting and scenario planning- Maintain and develop standard business forecasting metrics and dashboards for analyzing weekly business performance, highlighting trends vs budget and prior periods- Provide leadership with insights into drivers of revenue and expenses as well as risks and opportunities- Evaluate, analyze and advise on strategic opportunities, pre-emptive solutions and build complex defensible models to support expected outcomes and decision-making- Produce critical insights to business partners to drive strategic and tactical decisions while improving process, systems and automation cross-functionally- Work with senior leadership in the coordination and completion of planning cycles, including annual budgeting, periodic revenue and cost reforecasting and long-term vision planning- Play a critical role with the Finance / Accounting team to architect Financial infrastructure, data flows and reporting to support future scale and business requirements
Top candidates will have strong business and technical acumen as well as clear communication and leadership skills. Bonus if you bring technology proficiency across NetSuite, FP&A SaaS, SQL, Python, Google Suite or Excel.
