Responsibilities
Raba Kistner is seeking a detail-oriented, dependable Associate Chief Operating Officer to join our team in Austin, TX. The Associate Chief Operating Officer assists in management and engineering oversight of all regional Infrastructure Division activities. Exercises professional and independent judgment in overseeing Infrastructure Division activities. Work requires extensive contact with State Departments of Transportation, local government transportation officials and private entities. Employees at this level establish their own work plan and priorities to meet set objectives. Other responsibilities include:
Assists in the development of work programs and plans to meet strategic goals.Assists with engineering/problem resolution encountered in delivery of projects.Executes special assignments and prepares reports.Collaborates and cooperates with others and builds effective working relationships with internal and external members to accomplish organizational goals.Oversees all regional Infrastructure Division activities in the absence of the COO.Perform other job responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science Degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering or related science field. Master's or higher degree accepted by Texas Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors (TX PELS) a plus. ProfessionalEngineer (P.E.) licensein the State of Texas. or ability to obtain if current P.E. license is in another state within 6 months of hire. A minimum of 15 years experience in transportation, design, construction, operations, maintenance and development and execution of quality management plans and 10 years of managerial/supervisory experience are required. Must be proficient in analyzing and organizing business and technical data, preparing and maintaining confidential and sensitive records files and reports and communicating complex ideas and information clearly, concisely and effectively.
Intermediate Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet, etc. Communicate both written and orally to present organized and thorough information to the intended audience.
Must possess extensive knowledge of Transportation design engineering principles, practices and methods and the application of engineering theory, Construction engineering policies and procedures and maintenance concepts, methods, policies and requirements.
Considerable knowledge of government programs and operations affecting highway and transportation development and economic, demographics, fiscal, legal and technical aspects involving state transportation programs.
Must possess expertise in establishing plans and setting objectives and goals that support overall business strategy/results, anticipating and adjusting for problems/roadblocks. Direct and establish objectives; measuring performance against goals; evaluating results and making necessary adjustments to meet deadlines. Public relations for maintaining effective working relationships with individuals and groups, both internal and external. Apply engineering principles, practices and methods in job responsibilities.
